Silver Willow Wind Farm

Art

I submitted work to the Glenhyrst Gallery Juried Exhibition in Brantford. There were over 300 submissions and only 54 were chosen for the exhibit. It was a blind adjudication - the Juror's did not know whose work they were looking at (tho' they would sometimes recognize an artist). I was unknown to the juror's as an artist.

I was one of the 54 chosen. This was a lovely confirmation that my work has merit. What completely stunned me was at the opening reception I received the Best in Show Award.

There are many times when friends and family say, 'I love it,' 'It's beautiful.'  You hear that and think they're my family. They're being nice. Last night was the first time I felt that I was on the right track. It was someone outside my circle. It was someone that decided they liked my work without couching in polite phrases to my face.

Time to get back to the studio!!
