Key West
My paintings and drawings explore the relationship between colour and form. I use my personal interpretation of a variety of objects, as source material for my work; the female form, horses, land, water, and flora. I use my understanding of colour theory to create vibrant, rich and sometimes agitated paintings. I pay attention to subtle nuances of color and value, to assure that the viewer of the painting can easily tell what time of day it was and the pervading light and atmosphere of the scene, whether it be the tropical or cold crisp east coast. This series represents my visits to Key West in 2018, 2019 and 2020.
